There are few top-notch visionaries in Finnish pop music who have rejected the appeal of mass approval as strongly and proudly as Rättö ja Lehtisalo. In their 15-year-long career, starting from the 2003 album Kopernikus hortoilee näkinkengässä, the duo have set the bar high above the mundane pop trivialities. In the beginning, their quest was to infiltrate into pop music, to adopt the pop idiom and to annihilate it from within. In the process, however, Rättö ja Lehtisalo have managed to invigorate the beast they set out to slay, providing it with the intellect necessary to keep it breathing.
